Paula Urbano
Paula Urbano was born in 1980 and raised in Skärholmen. Paula is educated at Konstfack but has also studied architecture and urban planning at Kungliga Konsthögskolan.
Her artistry revolves around existential questions about the individual in relation to migration and place.
Paula creates video works, installations, sculptures and poetry.
She obtained a work grant from the Swedish art institution in 2021, Bror Hjort art pedagogic travel
scholarship in 2021 and a travel scholarship from Iaspis to a Artist in Residence in Madrid, 2021.
“My art is about the things I wondering and thinking about. It starts with a small thought I wonder
about, but then I give myself the task of getting to the bottom with what it is I’m wanting to examine
and understand. It tends to land in different kinds of interpretetions of the investigations.”
